The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, Darko Kostadinovski LLD, today held meetings with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Martin Pammer, and the Ambassador of Italy, H.E. Paolo Palminteri, within the framework of the Court’s intensified international agenda and increased dynamics in its international activities.

During the meetings, views and ideas were exchanged on strengthening cooperation between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia and the constitutional courts of the Republic of Austria and Italy, which is envisaged to be implemented in the forthcoming period.

President Kostadinovski informed the ambassadors about the current challenges faced by the Court and, at the interest of the interlocutors, briefed them on the planned activities for the period ahead. These include the handling of cases of high public interest, the strengthening of the constitutional order, the protection of the principle of separation of powers, and the advancement of the rule of law.

President Kostadinovski expressed his sincere gratitude for the continuous support of Ambassador Pammer in advancing cooperation between the two constitutional courts. Such cooperation will be further strengthened in the forthcoming period through the official bilateral visit of the President of the Constitutional Court of Austria, Christoph Grabenwarter, his participation as a keynote guest at the Balkan Forum of Constitutional Courts to be held next year, as well as the organisation of specialised training for the professional development of the expert staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia through a study visit to the Constitutional Court of Austria.
