Advisers of the Constitutional Court Participated in Training on the Standardisation of Decision Templates and Reasoning

The advisers of the Constitutional Court who work on cases participated in a four-day training programme dedicated to enhancing the methodology for drafting and reasoning the decisions of the Constitutional Court. Particular emphasis was placed on harmonising judicial practice and improving the quality of legal reasoning.

The training comprised two thematic sessions. The first session focused on the presentation and examination of templates and guidelines for the reasoning of Constitutional Court decisions and for the preparation of legal summaries, with a particular focus on cases concerning constitutionality and legality, as well as cases relating to the protection of human rights.

The second session was dedicated to knowledge transfer and practical exchange of experience. During this session, discussions were held on techniques for summarising the submissions of applicants, as well as on techniques for drafting the reasoning of judicial decisions, through the analysis of specific cases from practice and the exchange of good practices from other countries.

The trainers engaged by the EU Delegation in Skopje were Margarita Tsatsa-Nikolovska, former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights; Štefica Stažniќ, expert in human rights and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights; and Martin Sopronov, Senior Legal Expert.

The training was delivered between 15 and 18 December, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union, within the framework of the IPA III project aimed at strengthening institutional capacities.
