President Kostadinovski Held a Meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China

The President of the Constitutional Court, Darko Kostadinovski LLD, held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Jiang Xiaoyan.

During the meeting, President Kostadinovski briefed the Ambassador on the current challenges faced by the Constitutional Court, as well as on the role and competences of the Court as a pillar of democracy and a guarantor of constitutional rights and freedoms and the rule of law. He presented his commitments aimed at ensuring greater independence and autonomy of the institution, as well as enhancing transparency in its work, including through the live broadcasting of Court sessions.

Both sides underlined the importance of further deepening bilateral cooperation through the exchange of experiences and dialogue between constitutional courts, as a means of strengthening institutional ties and advancing international standards in the field of constitutional law.

Ambassador Xiaoyan presented the initiative for the Republic of North Macedonia to join the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed), highlighting the importance of international cooperation and the promotion of the principles of the rule of law.

Through this meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, deepening mutual ties, and enhancing cooperation in the constitutional and legal sphere.
