A round table dedicated to communication challenges and best practices in announcing high-profile decisions of constitutional courts was held under the organisation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, with the support of the Council of Europe.
Among the participants was a delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, composed of the Secretary General, Violeta Gjorgjievska LLM, and the Public Relations Adviser and Spokesperson of the Court, MSc Hristina Belovska. They presented the national legal framework governing public access and freedom of information, emphasising that transparency constitutes a strategic commitment of the Constitutional Court. An overview of communication activities and related statistics for 2024 and 2025 was also presented, with particular emphasis on proactive and regular public information.
The event was opened with addresses by the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Nejmi Rexhepi, the Secretary General, Vetëon Dula, and a representative of the Council of Europe. The discussion included representatives of the constitutional courts of Albania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Türkiye and the Czech Republic, who presented their national practices and approaches to transparency and public communication.
Participants exchanged experiences and highlighted the importance of accuracy, clarity and timeliness in communicating constitutional court decisions, as well as the need for enhanced regional cooperation in order to strengthen the communication capacities of constitutional courts.
