From 24 to 26 June 2026, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia is hosting a roundtable of Secretaries-General as part of the Balkan Forum of Constitutional Courts, during the Court’s presidency of the Forum. The event is organized with the support of the European Union, within the IPA project “Strengthening the Capacities of the Constitutional Court for Reviewing the Constitutionality and Legality of Regulations, with a Focus on the Protection of Human Rights.”
The workshop is being held under the theme “Organization of the Work of the Constitutional Court in Accordance with the Rules on Internal Organization, Job Classification, and the Evaluation and Advancement of Employees – Challenges and Solutions.” It continues the initiative for working meetings of the Secretaries-General of constitutional courts, which began at the end of 2025 in Pristina, organized by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Forum is attended by Secretaries-General and representatives of the constitutional courts of the Republic of Albania, Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Kosovo, Republic of North Macedonia, and Republic of Türkiye, as well as representatives of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia, which participates as an observer country.
The aim of the event is to exchange experiences and good practices, examine common challenges in the organization and functioning of constitutional courts, and discuss possible legal and practical solutions in accordance with international standards, recommendations of the Council of Europe, and comparative constitutional-court practice.
During the working sessions, the delegations will present the organizational structures and institutional arrangements of their respective courts, job classification and human-resources management systems, employee evaluation and advancement systems, as well as the institutional and administrative challenges they face.
