The President of the Constitutional Court, Darko Kostadinovski LLD, and the President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Boulos Fahmy Iskandar, signed a Protocol of Cooperation between the two courts.
The Protocol establishes a framework for the exchange of judicial practice, experience and expertise, with the aim of enhancing judicial decision-making techniques and strengthening institutional cooperation between the two constitutional courts.
On the occasion of the signing of the Protocol, both Presidents expressed their satisfaction and confidence that the document opens new perspectives for the further development of cooperation.

Discussions focused on the bilateral exchange of knowledge and practices, as well as on the possibility of expanding cooperation at the international level, with a view to information-sharing and the formation of common positions within the framework of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice.
The visit to Egypt takes place in connection with the participation of President Kostadinovski in the High-Level Meeting of African Constitutional Courts. The meeting is also attended by the President of the Constitutional Court of Spain, Cándido Conde-Pumpido, representing the World Conference on Constitutional Justice, and by Elena-Simina Tănăsescu, Chair of the Association of Constitutional Courts of the Francophonie.

President Kostadinovski will deliver an address entitled “Constitutional judiciary in the Republic of North Macedonia: The Path from Strict Formalism to Living Constitutionalism.”

In addition to representing the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, President Kostadinovski also acts in his capacity as Chair and representative of the Balkan Forum of Constitutional Courts.

On the margins of the event, President Kostadinovski held meetings with the President of the Constitutional Court of Türkiye, Kadir Özkaya, and the President of the Constitutional Court of Algeria, Leila Aslaoui.


Kostadinovski also met with Jung Jung-mi, Justice of the Constitutional Court of Korea, during which satisfaction was expressed with the development of cooperation, and the participation of representatives of the Korean Constitutional Court was announced for the 4th Congress of the Balkan Forum of Constitutional Courts, to be held in Ohrid from 12 to 14 November.
