President Dobrila Kacarska took part in the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Romanian Constitution

Dobrila Kacarska, the President of the Constitutional Court, has participated in the celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the first Constitution of Romania. As a part of the jubilee, an international conference was organized where more than 15 speakers delivered messages supporting the rule of law and human freedoms and rights.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Romania, Marian Enache, said: “As the supreme social contract that regulates the socio-political system, every Constitution must establish a balance, ensuring the proportionality between state power and freedom as an inherent universal value of the human being, the legal and constitutional status of each citizen, and the limitation of powers of the state concerning its citizens.”

Ms. Claire Bazy-Malaurie and Mr. Koen Lenaerts, the presidents of the Venice Commission and the European Court of Justice, respectively, presented their words supporting constitutional standards and promoting human rights.

During her stay in Romania, President Dobrila Kacarska met Muharem Mexhiti, the acting ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia in Romania.

Ms. Dobrila Katsarska, President of the Constitutional Court, and Ms. Hristina Belovska, Spokesperson and Adviser of the Court for Public Relations, attended the celebration of the centenary in Romania from March 26 to 29, 2023.
