Official opening of the judicial year of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg

From 23 – 26 January, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic
of Macedonia, Mr. Trendafil Ivanovski, Ph.D., and the Secretary General of the
Court Ms. Milica Nikolovska attended the official opening of the judicial year
of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. The event begаn with a
seminar on “The role of consensus in the system of the European Convention on
Human Rights”, which was followed by a formal ceremony to mark the opening of
the judicial year, at which the President of the Court, Mr Jean-Paul Costa, and
Ms Louise Arbour, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, gave addresses.

Within the framwork of the visit the President of the Constitutional
Court of the Republic of Macedonia had meetings with presidents of several
constitutional courts as well with representatives of international
institutions and organizations.
