
Goce Naumovski LL.D.

General Information
Goce Naumovski LL.D. was born in Skopje, where he completed his primary and secondary education with distinction. He graduated from secondary school with a thesis in the field of social sciences.
He enrolled at the “Iustinianus Primus” Faculty of Law in the academic year 1995/96, demonstrating a particular interest in Roman law, civil law, and intellectual property law. From February 2000, he served as a University Demonstrator in Roman Law. He graduated on 5 June 2000 with an overall grade average of 9.00.
He was elected Junior Assistant in Roman Law on 17.02.2003, and Assistant on 03.12.2004. He defended his Master’s thesis entitled “The Influence of the Roman Societas on the Contemporary Partnership Agreement” on 18.05.2004 (grade average 9.10).
He defended his doctoral dissertation, “The Contract of Deposit in Roman and Contemporary Law”, on 18.05.2007 and was awarded the academic title Doctor of Legal Sciences. He was elected Assistant Professor on 26.09.2007, Associate Professor on 31 May 2012, and Full Professor on 31 January 2017.
On 19.09.2018, at the University of Strasbourg, he defended his second doctoral dissertation entitled “Relations between Trademark Quality and Consumers’ Cognitive and Conative Variables”, thereby obtaining the academic title Doctor of Legal Sciences in the field of Private Law – Intellectual Property Law.
He is fluent in English, French, Greek and Albanian.
Teaching and Educational Activities
Professor Naumovski is responsible for courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, including:
- Roman Law;
- Information Technology Law;
- Trademark and Geographical Indications Law;
- Rhetoric and Legal Argumentation.
Academic Positions and Engagements: He has served as Vice-Dean for Teaching, Head of the Institute of Legal History, and Head of Postgraduate Studies (including the dual degree programme with the University of Strasbourg), he has chaired and served on numerous organisational committees and has participated in the Centre for Intellectual Property Education (CIPE), he is an accredited doctoral supervisor. He has been a member of faculty commissions relating to academic appointments, enrollment, curriculа harmonisation, the publishing council, systematisation of posts, and the selection of practitioners as experts.
He serves as President of the Organising Committee of the oratory event “Ivo Puhan” and is the founder of the Centre for Legal Argumentation bearing the same name.
