The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, Darko Kostadinovski LLD, held a working meeting with a delegation from the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), comprising Dr Stefan Pürner, Head of the Western Balkans Project, and Dr Arndt Wohler, Senior Project Manager.
During the meeting, views and information were exchanged on ongoing activities, as well as on opportunities for their further enhancement and deepening. A shared appreciation was expressed regarding the quality and impact of the cooperation to date, which has been assessed as a significant contribution to strengthening institutional capacities and advancing professional expertise.
The interlocutors underlined the importance of this partnership for further reinforcing the role of the Constitutional Court in ensuring the rule of law and the protection of constitutionality, legality, and human rights, in line with European and international standards.
In this context, priority areas for future cooperation were also განხidered and defined, including the organisation of a regional conference co-organised with IRZ within the framework of the project “Support to the Work of the Constitutional Court”, as part of broader activities aimed at fostering regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. The conference will provide a platform for professional exchange and for enhancing cooperation among constitutional courts from Slavic-speaking countries.
