Dozens of Citizens Attend the First Open Day with the President of the Constitutional Court, Darko Kostadinovski LLD

Today, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, Darko Kostadinovski LLD, held the first working day dedicated to direct meetings with citizens.

Throughout the day, President Kostadinovski met with dozens of citizens who expressed an interest in obtaining information on the procedure for submitting applications to the Court. Some of them shared their personal experiences related to specific legal matters, sought legal opinions and advice on particular issues, and requested further clarification regarding the competences and the role of the Constitutional Court.

Among the first visitors to show interest in this format of open meetings was a group of students from the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” – Skopje, organised through ELSA (the national branch of the European Law Students’ Association), who had the opportunity to become directly acquainted with the work of the Court and to raise questions relating to constitutional judicial protection of rights and freedoms.

These meetings form part of President Kostadinovski’s efforts to enhance the transparency and openness of the Court towards the public.

The next meeting between the President and citizens is scheduled for 2 April, the first Thursday of the month. On that occasion, all citizens interested in attending are invited to register in due time in order to be given the opportunity to ask questions directly, to receive information about proceedings before the Court, and to learn more about its constitutional competences.
